Artist Statement:
It is my hope that many people can share in the positive energy that lies within my simple works of art. In everything I do I try to exemplify the beauty that demonstrates God's love. I have found that creating abstract landscapes and uplifting inspirational art is very rewarding and is a way for me to share my joy of life with others. I allow for my intuitive heart to take hold as I transfer feelings and emotion onto canvas. It is my deepest prayer that many people will resonate with my artwork so that they are inspiring and uplifting.
Painting is more an expression of the inner place inspired from the open spaces in the natural world. I want the viewer to feel the joy that went into creating them so much so that they want to touch the painting. I have to admit, besides the colors, I have a love for the fluidity of the paint and creating the globs of underlying texture. The texture that is formed by dripping paint onto the canvas is a lot of fun, and it lends itself nicely to the subject matter. The speed at which I apply the paint can be seen in what looks like meteorites flying across the sky. Like a composer waving his wand, I get to dance with the paint when applying it.
